America the Beautiful

My family and I are lucky enough to live in area where in about an hour you can transport yourself to a different place and time.  These past two weekends we were lucky enough to do just that. Last weekend we took a day trip to Lancaster County, PA.  Pennsylvania Dutch Country, home of the Amish.  You are transported to a different time of steam engines, toy train exhibits, rolling fields and horse and buggy.  We were even lucky enough to watch a hot air balloon take a sunset flight.

Who knew that within a 40 minute drive we could travel back to the time of cowboys, bucking broncos and calf roping. This weekend we took a trip to Cowtown Rodeo, America's oldest weekly running rodeo (in NJ no less, the land of strip malls and ! We watched bull riding, cattle wrestling and roping and barrel racing.  It was a great night out.

Both of these day trips I of course took the camera and embarrassed the kids but isn't that what Moms are supposed to do :)  So in honor of the upcoming 4th of July enjoy these photos I have taken.  Let yourself go back in time and remember how we go where we are today. Happy 4th of July everyone!
